Litigation
Civil litigation is a term used to describe the process by which a civil claim is sought before the courts. There are many different types of legal remedies which can be sought from a court including injunctions, specific performance, recession of contract and, most commonly, monetary compensation in the form of damages.
Regan Solicitors can provide services and advice on all procedures and remedies available to their clients. We have extensive expertise in assisting both Plaintiffs and Defendants and deal with matters in Courts and Tribunals throughout Ireland.

Personal Injuries
The Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) was established in 2003 and marked a substantial change in personal injuries litigation in Ireland. Instead of matters going through the court system claims must now be assessed by the PIAB. A claimant must make an application to the PIAB. The party against who the claim is being made must consent to an assessment by PIAB.
If consent is given and an award made either party can accept or reject the award. If no consent is given or either party rejects the award the claim may advance to court proceedings. If both parties consent to the award the claim is settled.
